Michele (Gibbons) Floyd
Michele never forgot a birthday, a special event, or a good bottle of wine. If you knew Michele, you knew her bright smile, joyous laugh and the twinkle in her eye. She was usually up to something fun. Born April 23, 1966, Michele lived most of her life in Puyallup, Washington. At Puyallup High School, Michele met her future husband, Dan. Dan and Michele had two sons, Devin and Alex, who they raised with resolute love and support. She loved being The Momma. And she learned from the best---her own momma, Joan. Michele built a 30-year career and lifelong friends at Harborstone Credit Union in Tacoma. Last year, in a moment of clarity, she and Dan quit their jobs, sold their home and moved to the place they were both happiest--Cannon Beach, OR. Michele adored her Cannon Beach friends and community. She put her generous nature to work at local events and causes, including Friends of Haystack Rock, Savor NW Wine, and Hood to Coast Relay. She also quickly found a new place to put her organizational prowess to work, at TLC Credit Union in Astoria and Seaside, where she found another team of colleagues to love. Michele passed away peacefully on July 8, 2016, and is missed dearly by her husband, Dan Floyd; sons Devin Floyd of Seattle, and Alex Floyd of Eugene; her mother, Joan Stubblefield of Puyallup; brother Erik Gibbons (Kristi) of Puyallup; and many much-loved nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends she considered family. She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Keith Stubblefield. Michele chose happiness, gratitude and living life to the fullest.
