Guy S. Conrad, of Hingham, was born March 10, 1940, and died Jan. 27, 2013, at his home, at the age of 72. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane (Strouf) Conrad; and leaves his son, Christopher F. Conrad of Pembroke; grandsons, Zac and Xavier; sisters, Patricia Lewis of Santa Rosa, Calif., Martha Clark and her husband James of Mequon, Wis.; and his brother, Jon Conrad and his wife Janice of Ithaca, N.Y. Also survived by brother-in-law, James Strouf of Madison, Wis.; several loving nieces and nephews; and many devoted friends. Guy was born in Milwaukee, Wis., and in 1963 graduated from the University of Wisconsin, where he was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity. He was a lifelong supporter of the Wisconsin Badgers, including terms as past president and director of the Greater Boston Alumni Club. He worked at several major advertising agencies including Kenyon & Eckhardt, Arnold & Company, and his own full service, marketing, advertising and public relations agencies, Conrad, Inc., and Conrad & Co. as well as his current management and marketing consultancy, Farsight Marketing. A former trustee of Thayer Academy in Braintree, active in numerous industry, community and civic organizations, Guy was also a past president and director of the Advertising Club of Greater Boston. He was a former Board Chair of Road to Responsibility, a non-profit organization providing jobs, homes and new lives for people with mental disabilities.
