Welch, Don S. 79 Aug. 26, 1935 Sept. 10, 2014 Don S. Welch, 79, of Portland, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2014. Don was born Aug. 26, 1935, in Portland. He was a fourth generation Oregonian and descendant of Astoria pioneer, Nancy Dickerson. He graduated from Central Catholic High School, attended the University of Portland and Portland State University and served in the U.S. Army. Don founded World Cup Coffee, a coffee roasting and retail business headquartered in Portland. He was a proud Irishman, avid 49er and Trail Blazers fan, enjoyed tennis, golf, skiing, photography and watching musicals and westerns, and especially appreciated the company of his family and friends. Don is survived by his wife, Priscilla LeClair Welch; children, Gayle Elliott, Peggy Stein, Joe Welch and Dan Welch; stepsons, Jeff LeClair and Mike LeClair; 13 grandchildren; two great-grand- children; sisters, Nancy Allen and Ann McDonald; nieces, nephews and many friends. Don was preceded in death by his father, Peter Westley Welch; mother, Mildred Kelley Welch; brothers and sisters, Tommy, Mary, Vincent, Jimmy, Quentin "Tin," Peter and Zoe; and stepson, Stephen LeClair. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Fri- day, Sept. 26, 2014, at St. Mary's Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and a celebration of life will be held directly after the service at World Cup Coffee.
