PRICE JR,, JOSEPH MAURICE Passed away on Friday, February 29, 2008, at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Scottsdale, AZ where he was vacationing with his wife. Maurice Price Jr. was born September 24, 1940, in Ft. Worth, TX to Joseph Maurice Price Sr. and Sue Beall Price. He later moved with his family to Sherman, TX where he graduated from Sherman High School in 1958. He attended TCU where he was Vice President of the interfraternity council and a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. He graduated in 1961. Maurice married Carole Cleveland Price of Palestine, TX in 1962 and worked with his father at Price's Department Store in Sherman until 1968. He then moved to Dallas and began a career with Paine-Webber and Dean Witter until 1980. He started Price Distributing in Ennis, TX in 1981, and continued to work there until the time of his death. He was a member of Preston Trail Golf Club, Bent Tree Country Club, Gleneagles Country Club, Whisper Rock Golf Club in Scottsdale, AZ and Highland Park United Methodist Church. He served on several boards including, Baylor Healthcare System Foundation, Dallas Summer Musicals, Preston Trail Golf Club, Amyloidosis Support Groups Inc. and the National Kidney Foundation. Maurice was on the board of directors of WBDT and recently was elected Honorary Lifetime Director and was Chairman of the Addison-Randolph Clark Society at TCU and Chairman of the Murata Reunion Pro-Am Golf Tournament. Maurice is survived by his wife of 46 years, Carole; children, Christopher Scott Price and wife, Alicia, of Plano and Stacey Price Wright and husband, Larry of Plano; grandchildren, Reese, Ryan, Landry and Sutton Price, Tyler and Kylie Wright; brother, Alan Price and wife Terry, of Houston; two nieces, Jennifer Bates and Katherine Price; uncle, Joe E. Price; cousins, Janet Spivey Hodges , John Spivey, Sara Price Wagner, Joe E. Price III, and Janet Price Butler. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 5, 2008, from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m., at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. in the Main Sanctuary at Highland Park United Methodist Church in Dallas. Private entombment at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
