Sandie Sadler

DATE DIAGNOSED: 10/03

TYPE OF AMYLOIDOSIS: ATTR Familial

WHERE TREATED: UCSF - Liver Transplant

COMMENTS: I had to convince my doctors to send me to UCSF for a possible transplant because they thought I was still too healthy. Lucky for me the doctors at UCSF knew otherwise. I received my new liver on May 26, 2004, and today am very healthy. The hepatitis patient who received my liver through the domino transplant is doing very well also. I have learned to speak up to doctors and not let them intimidate me. It saved my life, and the life of my brother, who received his liver May 14, 2005.
