RICHARD FREY

Richard John Frey, 73, of Green Valley, AZ, left us Friday, June 13, 2014 after a two-year struggle with the rare disease amyloidosis. Born May 5, 1941 to Lawrence and Ursula Frey in Columbus, Wis., Richard was a deeply loved brother to his nine siblings, who survive him and mourn his passing: Joan Euler, Ruth Aulik, Lois Helberg, Fred Frey, Russell Frey, Larry Frey, Jean LaRocque, Joe Frey and Kaye Frey, as well as 20 nieces and nephews and hundreds of devoted friends. Richard is also survived by his Godmother and aunt, Jeanette Frey Schey.

Richard attended a one-room schoolhouse in Deansville, Wis., where he grew up, and is still remembered for his enthusiastic and hilarious impersonations and performances. He loved making people laugh and enjoyed himself greatly in the process.

A gentle, thoughtful and spiritual person, Richard attended the Queen of Apostles Seminary, the University of Wisconsin and also the Pratt Art Institute. He lived for many years in the Bay Area. He maintained a lifelong interest in art, music, theology and Old World cooking.
