KATHLEEN BURNS DANBURY

Of Annandale, Virginia, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on Saturday, September 21, 2013 after a brave battle against Amyloidosis and Nephrotic Syndrome. She was an extraordinary woman who loved people, travel and watching mysteries with her husband. She had a varied and interesting career, which included a position as a copywriter for a radio station, training personnel in Chicago and a role as special events coordinator at the Woodward and Lothrop department store. Her true calling was always education, which extended into a more than 30 year career teaching. A graduate of University of Wisconsin, she earned a Masters in Education from Marymount University. She is survived by her beloved husband, Michael Danbury; children Amy DeCarlo (Mark), Chrissy Danbury (Dave Kief), Tommy Danbury and stepdaughter, Betsy Danbury; grandchildren, Isabella, Olivia and Tasha DeCarlo; brothers, Jack Burns (Barbara) and Dan (Joanne); and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her brother, Tom Burns and is survived by her sister-in-law, Sharon Burns
