Gerald L. Weisbrot (1950 - 2014)

Gerald "Garry" L. Weisbrot, age 63, of Stevens Point, passed away May 12, 2014, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield from complications due to Primary Amyloidosis, with his loving family by his side.

Garry was born May 16, 1950 to Nicholas & Isla (Finnessey ) Weisbrot in Stevens Point, WI. He attended local schools and graduated from PJ Jacobs High School Class of 1968. He went on to attend The National School of Heavy Equipment in Charlotte, NC graduating in 1972. Following school, Garry apprenticed in Tampa, FL before returning to Stevens Point to work for the Soo Line Railroad for 11 years. Garry then worked as a Crane Operator with Local 139 most prominently with Miron Construction. He retired in 2009 due to illness.

Garry was drafted into the Army in May 1970. He served as a Private 1st class in the 101st battalion airborne division (Screaming Eagles) at Fort Campbell, KY. He was later honorably discharged at Fort Polk, LA.

Garry married Kathleen Kedrowski on November 24, 1972 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Tampa, FL.

Garry will be remembered for his strong willed, caring, and honest nature. In his spare time, he enjoyed fixing & restoring cars, fishing, watching his children in sporting events, and being outdoors. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his 9 grandchildren.

Garry is survived by his loving wife, Kathy of Stevens Point; children, Jason (Becky) of Stevens Point, Elliot (Erin O'Connell) of Stevens Point, and Jennifer (Gerald) Bemowski of Junction City; grandchildren, Garrett, Morgan, Molly, & Gavin Weisbrot, Mikaela, and Ellie Weisbrot, and Emma, Owen & Oliver Bemowski; mother, Isla Weisbrot of Stevens Point; mother-in-law, Charlotte Kedrowski of Stevens Point; siblings, Anita Carter of Nashville, TN, Mark Weisbrot of Amherst, Marlene Wrobleski of Rhinelander, and Alan (Theresa) Weisbrot of Nashville, TN. He is further survived by 2 sister-in-laws, Patti (Rick) Wysocki of Custer and Robyn (James) Damask of Stevens Point; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Nick; and father-in-law, Robert Kedrowski.
