Gabriele M. Ciccone December 25, 1926 - August 12, 2013 - Resident of San RamonWith his customary quietness, Gabe passed away Monday, August 12, 2013, with his family by his side. Born in White Plains, New York, after graduation from high school, Gabe attended Manhattan College. He then transferred and graduated from MIT with a degree in civil engineering. While at MIT, he was on active duty in the US Navy and then the Navy Reserves. With the start of the Korean War, he reenlisted and served a second tour of duty.Gabe met and married his wife, Elaine, while living in New York. Upon their marriage they moved to San Francisco and their daughters, Audrey and Nancy (Prost), were born there.Gabe worked many years throughout the construction industry, starting as a draftsman and designer. He was superintendent of construction for the Time and Life Building, Seagram's Building, and appointed project manager for the construction of the Metropolitan Opera at Lincoln Center before leaving New York. In San Francisco, he worked as the project manager during the construction of the Bank of America World Headquarters Building. A move to Seattle, gave him the opportunity to change that skyline as well. Then in 1986, an invitation to return to California as Vice President of Construction with Sunset Development Company, involved him in the completion of Bishop Ranch until his retirement in 2008.Gabe leaves his wife Elaine, daughters Audrey and Nancy Prost (Darryl). Two grandchildren Tayler and Lawson Prost and extended family members Christine and Duncan Bedard, John and Alexandra Hagerty, his sister Elaine (Orlando Guida), sister in law Patricia (Bob Ciccone) and many nieces and nephews. His parents, Louise and Gabriele, an infant sister and his brother, Bob, predeceased Gabe. -
