Ann Sharon (Keiser) Smrdel (1946 - 2014) of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and formerly of Mentor and Cleveland, passed away Feb. 25, 2014, at Conway Medical Center in Conway, S.C., after a long battle with amyloidosis which robbed her of all kidney function, making her a dialysis patient. Ann was the beloved wife of Edward J. Smrdel Jr., dearest mother of Arianne (Jeremy) Lovelace of San Antonio, Texas, Kristin (Scott) Jamroz of Streetsboro, and Sarah Smrdel of Mentor; loving sister of Kenneth (Linda) Keiser of Oregon, Ohio, and Donald (Mary) Keiser of Arlington Heights, Ill.; dear grandmother of Jackson Lovelace; and step-grandmother of Samantha Lovelace and Nik Jamroz. She was preceded in death by her devoted parents, Rueben and Elma Keiser. Ann was born April 2, 1946 in Toledo. She graduated from Clay High School in Oregon, Ohio, in 1964, and from Kent State University in 1970 with a degree in education. After teaching for a short time, she attended nursing school at Cuyahoga Community College. She worked as a nurse for over 30 years, first at Huron Road Hospital, then at Euclid Hospital, and ended her nursing career as the clinical director at the CDH Endoscopy Center in Willoughby.
