Mary Ellen "Hope" Reicherz, 73, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2011, with her family at her side. She was born Oct. 13, 1937 and raised in New York City. In the late 1970s, she moved to Englewood, NJ to raise her family. After a successful career in nursing and homemaking, she and her husband retired to Southern New Jersey. Hope enjoyed cooking, shopping, traveling, remodeling her homes, sharing a hot cup of tea with friends and playing with her three grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Helen; and her husband, Albert. She is survived by her sons, Albert Jr. and Philip, Philip's wife - Megan, and three grandchildren, Quinn, Jackson and Parker. In addition, she will be missed by her brother, Edward Fergus and his wife, Dorothy; sister, Anne Knepell and her husband, Thomas; sister-in-law, Linda Reicherz Tuti and her husband Joseph; and eight nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, March 13 at Barrett Funeral Home, 148 Dean Drive, Tenafly. A Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 14 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 10 County Road, Tenafly.
